5/8/2024 0 Comments Motor driver l298n fritzing![]() When the jumper is connected, the L298N onboard 5V regulator starts working, providing 5V to the L298N's logic circuitry. This pin supplies power to the L298N's own logic circuitry. Depending on whether the jumper is left in or left out, the L298N's '5V' pin functions as either a supply input pin or a supply output pin. The '5V' pin on the L298N is not a logic input pin. When the jumper is removed, it becomes a voltage supply INPUT pin (instead of a 5V output pin). At this point, the '5V' pin on the L298N changes its functionality/behavior. Removing the jumper is the correct action to take when supplying the L298N board with an external power supply, as long as the supply voltage is greater than about 12V DC. ![]() ![]() In another test, I removed the jumper for the internal voltage supply and connected the +5V logic input to the 5V Arduino source. A red LED turned on, which did not happen before (although it still exhibited the same behavior).
